File verification

Verify the APK before you install it.

When a SHA-256 checksum is published with a VPServ release, compare it exactly with the hash of the APK you downloaded.

The resulting value must exactly match the checksum displayed for that release.

Beta expectations

Try VPServ with clear expectations.

The Beta release is meant for learning, building, and sharing feedback—not critical production work.

Beta
  • VPServ is currently in Beta.
  • Some tools and project workflows may be experimental.
  • Compatibility can vary between Android devices.
  • Not every package or project workflow is supported.
  • Do not rely on VPServ Beta for critical production workloads.
  • Feedback and issue reports help improve the product.

Android permissions and settings

Prompts that support longer-running work.

VPServ keeps these prompts tied to the Android capabilities it currently uses for visible environments and project import.

Notifications on Android 13+

VPServ asks for notification permission when the project list opens so ongoing environment notifications can be visible.

Battery optimization

VPServ may open Android's battery-optimization setting. If your device presents the prompt, you can allow an exemption for longer-running local environment work.

Project folder import

To add a project, choose its folder with Android's system folder picker. VPServ copies the selected folder into its private project space.

Root access is not required by the current Android app. Project import uses Android's system folder picker rather than broad full-device file access.

Download and project safety

Keep the APK and project workflow trusted.

  • Download VPServ only from this official website or an official release source linked here.
  • Verify the published SHA-256 checksum before installing when one is available.
  • Do not install APK files received from unknown sources.
  • Run only trusted VPServ projects: Abotlogixfile.json recipes can install supported tools and execute configured commands.
  • Never share tunnel tokens, passwords, or API credentials.
